Walid Uthman

A seasoned Chief Financial Officer and senior consultant with over two decades of experience leading financial strategy, operational transformation, and large-scale restructuring across healthcare, manufacturing, FMCG, and service industries in the Middle East and the United States.

Currently serving as a CFO and strategic advisor to major corporations, hospitals, and growing businesses, with a strong focus on financial sustainability, value creation, and performance optimization. Expertise includes strategic and operational audits, business planning, feasibility studies, mergers and acquisitions, and executive-level advisory for new ventures and expansions.

Played a pivotal role in the successful acquisition and turnaround of a hospital, resulting in improved patient satisfaction and enhanced profitability. Led multiple feasibility studies and restructuring initiatives, including for FMCG and healthcare organizations, and delivered measurable cost reductions through strategic procurement, revenue cycle optimization, and process benchmarking against industry best practices.

Previously held senior leadership roles at a leading academic medical center, overseeing finance, budgeting, treasury, revenue cycle management, procurement, supply chain, and business development. Successfully transformed hospital operations from sustained losses to long-term profitability, secured over $200 million in funding for major expansions, and maintained optimal receivables despite consistent double-digit revenue growth.

Earlier experience includes senior finance roles at a Fortune 500 multinational corporation in the United States, leading financial planning, reporting, compliance, and strategic analysis. Delivered significant cost savings, implemented Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, supported executive decision-making, and contributed to enterprise-wide financial process reengineering initiatives.

Holds an MBA in Finance from Loyola University Chicago (Beta Gamma Sigma) and a Bachelor’s degree from the American University of Beirut. Ramzi Uthman is a seasoned finance professional with over 25 years of international banking experience, specializing in development finance, credit evaluation, and strategic institutional growth. He has a proven track record in both sovereign and corporate project assessment, with deep expertise in Islamic banking operations. Ramzi combines rigorous quantitative analysis with a passion for strategy formulation and multi-tasking leadership.

• Assistant General Manager, CSCBank (2018–2019): Led the banking unit’s lending functions, including credit cards, personal loans, and corporate credit, while managing IFRS9-compliant collection and recovery.  

• Leadership at ITFC (2008–2018): Served in high-level roles within the International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation, building country-level development strategies for Asia and collaborating with Moody’s to develop group-wide Credit Risk Guidelines.  

• Institutional Building: Coordinated the legal, operational, and financial tasks for establishment of  a new institution, including the drafting of Articles of Agreement.
